Happy New Year
It’s a brand-new year carrying with-it brand-new energies and expectations.
To welcome the year, I’d like to offer a few personal observations you might think about as we move into the coming months.
2+0+2+3=7
In Numerology, the number seven is about SEEKING ANSWERS. It tries to establish a philosophy by which to live and attempts to penetrate the mystery behind its existence which it has never questioned to this point. Because solitude is necessary for analysis, the 7 feels the need to spend time alone, away from the crowds, in touch with nature. It looks for friendship with those of an elevated consciousness that can match its own.
And on the seventh day, God rested. All things rest under the seven because time is needed in which to think. The ions under 7 feel poised and calm; they realize that they now need to be still and know. They have established a routine for their energy, and now analysis begins.
Seven ushers into the cycle a physical completion without apparent effort. Goals that have been long sought are now magically attained. Spare time is available in which philosophical and metaphysical interests can be pursued. Perfected thinking is the goal of 7, which is why it is called the sacred number. It is also why scientists, philosophers, teachers, mystics, and the clergy come under this influence. The physical facet of 7 also relates to the health of the body, which is highly sensitized through this vibration.
Keywords for Seven are: quiet, introspective, intuitive, analytical, inspirational, reclusive, philosophical, and mystical.
In tarot, the 7th card of the Major Arcana is The Chariot.
According to the description provided in The Lewellyn Tarot Companion, “The traditional tarot imagery depicts a chariot driven by a capable, partly armoured warrior. Speed is often indicated, representing the pace of life, yet the driver has a firm grip on the reins and remains in control of the situation. The colour-symbolizing the two opposing poles or dichotomy within a person, within the environment, or the impact of an event. The horses are reconciled to pull in tandem, bringing speed and progress.”
Barbara Moore expands on this definition in her book, The Gilded Tarot Companion, saying, “The Chariot is a card of victory. The medallion of the sun atop the chariot indicates the immense power and focus of the woman’s mind. Although victory seems a rather straightforward concept, the card is full of contradictions. A woman in royal purple rides in a chariot. Instead of horses and forward movement, we see two sphinxes. Sphinxes often symbolize riddles. Their silver and gold color represents opposing ideas. The woman appears to be driving this motionless vehicle without reins; indeed, she is looking off in another direction. Yes, this is a card of victory. She has control, gained perhaps by strength of will alone. But she has not resolved the riddle of opposing ideas. She has achievement but not understanding. The message of the Chariot is one of willpower and control. Recognize your own strength and ability to maintain order in the midst of chaos. Know that you can achieve more than you think you can. Celebrate your accomplishments. Be aware of repressing issues or turning away from ideas that puzzle you. Once you achieve your goals, do not come to a complete stop, thinking that you have arrived. There is always more to learn and accomplish.”
And lastly, from this excellent article on numerology.com, we learn that “When the number 7 is involved, we are taken on a great quest for answers and truth…The number 7 is both deep and wise. It is not satisfied with simple explanations and surface-level information – this is frivolous stuff. It knows that the real gold is buried deeper and won't stop until it finds it ... and then it'll keep digging for more. Asking questions, researching, listening, and sensing are all special skills the 7 uses in its search for awareness.
Though spirituality is especially important to the number 7 in Numerology, it takes a more intellectual approach to life than an emotional one. It is an analytical number that enjoys gathering and filtering through information to find answers. Still, it has a more powerful intuition than you might expect, which it uses as a guide. This combination of conscious and subconscious thinking allows the mind of the Numerology number 7 to shine a light into the very deepest realms to access hidden truths.”
